DUMBING OF SOCIETY

It seems to me, that in this new “modern” age, that people are getting stupider.  Schools are doing away with cursive writing; we no longer have to know how to spell (as long as it’s close to what it’s suppose to be, it’s okay now.)  People aren’t paying attention to driving anymore; they are shaving, putting on makeup, combing their hair, brushing their teeth, eating, frosting cakes, reading the newspaper, looking for something in the back seat, texting or talking on their phones.  Wake up people!!!!  It’s the old cliché, give them an inch and they will take a mile.  What the hell did you do before cell phones?  No one can go to a store or in a restaurant anymore without their cell phones, what happened to making a list or having courtesy for other people.  Nothing is more annoying than standing in line in a store or sitting at a table and having to listen to someone talking on their phone.  Talk about Rude!!!!  The person on the other end of the phone can wait a few minutes.  NOTHING is that important. (Unless, you’re waiting to hear if someone died).

Parents can’t even discipline their children without getting into trouble with the law.  That’s what is wrong with today’s children.  They NEED a good kick in the butt.  The children don’t even listen to teachers anymore.  The children have NO respect for their elders or people of authority or education.  We need to knock some sense into them once more.  The television - it makes a great babysitter.  No wonder the children are like they are.  They watch anything that is on.  Granted, a few parents might put a block on some channels, but the majority doesn’t because they are not home most of the time because they have to work.  Some mothers spend a lot of time shopping instead of being home with the children.  I’m the mother of two children who grew up to be very polite and intelligent people.  I did what I had to do, I worked part-time or worked nights so at least either my husband was home with the children or I was.

Well, I guess that’s my gripe for now.  Think about this article though, you’ll see I’m right.
